Tunisia: LSH/ Ericson Group to Strengthen Partnership With Tunisian Ict Sector

Tunis — LHS a branch of of the Ericsson Group in Africa, Middle East and held on Wednesday in Tunis, its annual conference for technology operators.

18 operators and companies involved in network deployment, development services and digital applications in Africa, Middle East and Asia attended the conference.

During the conference, applications, software and IT solutions related to mobile telecommunications networks as well as cooperation and technological partnership projects were presented during the event.

On the sidelines of the conference, a working session chaired by Mr. El Hadj Gley, Minister of Communication technologies and Mr Wolfgang Kroh, Chairman of the LHS Board, was held at the Ministry of Communication Technologies, focused on the status and opportunities of cooperation between Tunisia and the multinational regarding the positive results in this sector.

Mr. El Hadj Gley stressed that the telecommunications market in Tunisia is developing and is offering great opportunities in terms of coverage and diversification of fixed and mobile product.

The minister pointed out President Ben Ali's Electoral Program which aims to raise Tunisia among developed countries and stimulate economic growth, entrepreneurship and employment promotion.

He added that Tunisia will connect a million new subscribers to the broadband Internet, as well as launching new mobile generations' services.

For his part, Mr. Wolfgang Kroh, Chairman of the LHS Board, expressed his administration's approach to socio-economic development and efforts for the setting up of a digital economy to meet Tunisia's needs in terms of development.

Moreover, he said that his company is willing to further develop the partnership and cooperation with Tunisian public and private companies active in the ICT sector, highlighting the attractiveness of the business environment in Tunisia.
