Gambia:Mandingo Waxing Stronger in Denmark

Sheriff Janko

31 October 2009

Mandingo, is another Gambian solo reggae dancehall star, currently making a name in the Danish reggae scene. Since his involvement in the music sector a decade ago, the star has been working hard to make it at a higher level.

Just recently, he began doing regular solo concerts, and his energetic style and powerful baritone has taken the Danish reggae audience by storm. In other words, if you've kept an eye on the Danish reggae scene during the past 2-3 years, this artist shouldnÂ't come as a surprise.

According to reports gathered by this columnist, for a rather long time, the half-Gambian-half-Danish reggae artist, has worked as a backup MC performing around big cities around Scandinavia with Danish dancehall artists. This as a result, later gave the Gambian star the zeal and motivation to work as an MC for several Danish sound systems such as Universal Sound , Rootsman Hi-Fi , All Prophet , and People's Choice .

Mandingo 's style is rootical with a new age flow - inspired by artists such as Sizzla Kalonji and Capleton - but with his own personal and distinctive mark. For more information log on www.dancehall.dk/artists/mandingo
