Gambia: Youths Sensitised On Illegal Migration

Banjul — Saamasang Youths and Children Development Association, recently held a 5-days sensitisation workshop on the dangers of illegal migration at Brikama, Western Region.

Over 80 youths from various communities in the Western Region were participated in the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, Babucarr Jabbi Gassama, the President of Operation No Backway to Europe, underscored the significant of the orientation pointing out that life in Europe is not what many young people believe it to be. Citing from experience, he said the whole process required lot of expenses and one would accept any job given to him or her that he or she will not do in his country.

He challenged the youthÂ's fraternity to show determination and forgo the concept of risking their lives. According to him, there are lots of resources in the The Gambia that the young people can capitalise on to better their livelihood.
