Banjul — As the saying goes, music has no boundary. Gambians in general are known for their versatile skills and talents. But a major constraint affecting most youths, especially those in the music scene, is lack of funds to produce their song.
However, the Gambian leader has been very instrumental in providing assistance to quite a number of youngsters in the music scene; thus moving their trade to the next level. This assistance from the Gambian leader will not only help these sprouting individual artists, but will go a long way in fulfiling their quest to promote the countryÂ's cultural diversity, as well as contribute their quota towards national development.
Each time you watch the state TV, you see quite a number of promo singles from some of our finest stars. Most of the sprouting stars need funds to record their stuff before they finally reach the local markets. It is high time companies and philanthropists came on board and emulate the Gambian leaderÂ's efforts, as one individual cannot do it alone.
Recently our WhatÂ's On anchorman caught up with one of the countryÂ's groundbreaking mbalax stars -Mustapha Taal, better known by his music sobriquet as Tapha Artist. During the interview, the mbalax sensation disclosed that his debut album is near completion, but lack of funds is the only constraint hindering his efforts to release this creative masterpiece.
Â"I have composed more than an album even, and most of these songs are quite thrilling and melodious,Â" said Tapha Artist. Tapha started music in 1998 and since then has been working hard to make a name in the countryÂ's music scene. Â"My upcoming album comprises hit tunes and will be both on CD and audio-cassettes. All the tracks in the masterpiece were recorded in the country,Â" he said, while appealing to government departments and local NGOs to help sponsor the final release of his album.
Any company or individual willing to support Tapha Artist can simply contact him directly on 9700021 or call his manager, Ousman Barry, on 9986770.
