Banjul — The Queen's baton relay is due to visit The Gambia for the second time in its history.
According to a press release sent from the Gambia National Olympic Committee, the Queen's Baton which visited The Gambia for the very first time in 2005 from the 20th-23rd April when his Excellency the President of the Republic Sheikh Professor Dr Alhaji Yahya AJJ Jammeh became the first head of state in the commonwealth to run with the Baton will spend four nights in the country.
The release further added that over 100 institutions took part in the 2005 event and this year the baton will arrive from Freetown, Sierra Leone on Friday December 11th at 11:45hrs, spend four nights and will arrive in The Gambia on Friday December 11th from Sierra Leone where it is expected to spend four nights then depart for Accra, Ghana.
