Kampala — AN association which brings together wives of soldiers attached to the Presidential Guard Brigade (PGB) on Friday held an art and craft exhibition at State House, Entebbe.
The PGB wives association, commonly known as Mama Kazi, whose patron is, Charlotte Kainerugaba, wife of Lt. Col. Kainerugaba Muhoozi, commander of the special forces, was started last year with the aim of helping women interact and improve their livelihoods.
The group runs a number of handicraft projects which include weaving, beading and knitting.
A team from the US led by Joyce Ward, wife of US Africa commander, William Ward attended the ceremony. "The major challenge we face is marketing and capital rejuvenation," Kainerugaba said.
Ward hailed the women for starting the association and promised to support them towards achieving their goals.
