Showbiz is one of the fastest growing business in Uganda and the world at large.

Every other day there is anew song and movie being launched and the audience is always on its toes, however this has not been convicing enough to the parents, guardians as well as the talented children.

And this can explains why the talented are have disappeared in thin air. However it takes the strong headed like Dr Mich (Ogwang Micheal) one of Uganda's sought after masters of ceremony) to come out despite the odds against them.

According to Mr. Keija (not real name) he would not let his child perfect his or her talent without completing 'honourable education'. He considers courses like medicine and law to be prestigious. He adds that such courses are respectable and add value to the personalites.

The Arts (MUSIC DANCE AND DRAMA) are very important to individuals and our communty. However considering our education system, these vital fields have been neglected and the public does not have enough information about them.

This is due to limited information exposure and lack of career guidence which is important in this era of dot.com.

According to Mr. Mabingo Alfeldmiels a lecturer of Dance (Dance performance ,Ethno-choreology, MDD department, MUK Research in Dance) Career guidance is very important and is the valuable tool that has contributed to the fast growing development in the Western World.

This is so because they always go for what they want and most importantly what they are talented in. This therefore explains the high levels of performance in the western world.

He adds that his parents are conservative and have not let change get in their way because of the colonial mentality which they carry with them to this day. They dont understand and still wonder how he makes a living as dance lecturer.

They believe in courses like medicine and law which they gladly offered to sponsor him in. Mr. Mabingo does not blame his parents' attitude afterall the accomplished artists have not only been scandolous but have also blossomed in negative press as a selling factor since they enjoy fighting each other and drug abuse.
