Tunis — Since October 28, 2009 nine of Tunisia's "Champion" stores will be re-labelled "Carrefour Market" . The move which was decided by the group following the successful opening since 2007 of hundreds of outlets bearing the same name and which have recorded higher revenues concerns "Champion" supermarkets located in Lafayette, El Menzah 9, Boumhel Bassatine, El Ghazala, Sousse Souk Lahad, Ksar Helal, Gafsa, Mahdia, and Grombalia.

The new brand name also indicates that the change in names will also bring with it a set of privileges for customers such as increased product freshness, less waiting time and improved service quality.

Tunisia whose population is largely middle class (80%) is witnessing a boom of retail businesses throughout the country.
