A motion of "urgent National Importance" is slated for hearing in the House of Representatives.
The motion would request the Government of Italy to investigate allegations that Italian security personnel threw one Mr. Emmanuel Ngozichukwu Ajoku Benedict to his death from a tall building.
Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman of the Diaspora Committee in the House, and her human rights and foreign affairs counterparts, would co-sponsor the motion to condemn the dastardly act and seek for recompense.
Dabiri-Erewa, the principal sponsor of the motion, has been worried by the continuous harassment and killing of Nigerians abroad.
According to Dabiri-Erewa, the motion became necessary following a petition to the Diaspora Committee by the deceased's family, alleging an unjustified murder of Benedict by the Italian security personnel.
The late Imo State indigene was said to have been thrown down the fourth floor of his apartment by two policemen who broke into his house on October 23, in Padova , Italy.
The petition was signed by a representative of the family, Mr.Celestine Amaefula Ajoku Benedict.
