Kampala — Defending champions Tornado left Entebbe oval cold with their tail between their legs after lowly-rated Kampala Institute of Cricket Clubs (KICC) humbled them by 30 runs in a Castle Lager National Super 7 (Premier League) tie on Sunday.

Needing four points to secure their third consecutive title, Tornado (35 points) failed to dislodge the hard-battling KICC in a low scoring thriller. KICC struggled at 78 for 7 but Suleiman Abdulhammid (20) and Sarfaraz Chunaria (39) helped it reach 134 - a total which was supposed to be easy to attain for Tornado.

But Tornado who took the field one player less paid the price for complacency and poor application as KICC bowlers Amin Khan (5/28) and Emmanuel Isaneez (2/35) bundled them out for 104 runs. Only Tornado skipper Keith Legesi with 30 runs showed his class.
