Nigeria: Pinnacle Insurance Partners Police on Terrorism

Abuja — The Nigerian Police in collaboration with Pinnacle Insurance Brokers Limited has concluded arrangement for a dialogue to identify probable targets of terrorism with the idea of exploring gap areas and proffering proactive solutions on counter measures.

The Managing Director Pinnacle Insurance Brokers Limited Dennis Nnorom told reporters in Lagos that the move is to tap into the proposed legislation against terrorism being champion by President Umaru Musa Yar'adua.

President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua had asked the National Assembly to enact legislation against terrorism. The Nigerian Police has begun moves to equip its self and key security agencies with safety measures.

The proposed Act sent to the National Assembly recently stipulates a maximum five-year jail term for anybody convicted for acts of terrorism.

Nnorom said he is organising a dialogue billed for December 8 and 10 at the Musa Yar' Adua Conference Centre, Abuja and will expose other issues in terrorism act and challenges.

Organisations and Agencies expected at the meeting include personnel from the Banking Industry, Telecommunication companies, Oil and Gas companies, Industrial Sectors, State Governors and Local Government offices, the Military and all security Agencies.
