Abuja — THE Daughters of Abraham Foundation (DOAF) Thursday graduated five women after they had successfully undergone a one year skill acquisition programme.
Those who graduated during the foundation's 15th anniversary were Judith Peter, Tessy Eliyato, Peace Eron, Blessing Samuel and Rebecca Bagudu.
The graduates were all presented with working tools and undisclosed amounts of money as take off grants for their business.
The foundation's Director, Evangelist Margaret Simon Bargo, said the foundation was established to tackle the problems of sexual immorality in the society.
She noted that most girls between the ages of 13 and 22 years have subjected themselves to sexual immorality.
According to her, the women were trained in the skills of cake baking, tailoring and other hand crafts for one and half years, before they were empowered.
"There is so much craze for money and this means there is something wrong with our value system because instead of prostitution to be decreasing, it is on the increase and so many girls are rushing to Abuja," She noted.
The director appealed to government to support the foundation in organizing programmes that will take the attention of girls from sexual immoralities.
Also speaking, Grand Patron of the foundation, Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni, commended the effort of the management in keeping the foundation alive for 15 years as well as helping to keep prostitute off Abuja streets.
The former FCT minister said he encouraged his late wife to sustain the foundation in order to bring decency and morality to the society.
