Zimbabwe:I Will Do My Best - Vanessa

Harare — A send-off ceremony for Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Vanessa Sibanda who is leaving for South Africa tomorrow to compete in the Miss World contest is on today.

In Zimbabwe, the reigning Miss Tourism Zimbabwe is the one who represents the country at the Miss World.

The overly confident Vanessa promised to do her best to represent Zimbabwe at the coveted Miss World finals slated for December 12.

"I'm not saying I will bring the crown but definitely I will not come empty handed. I promise to do my best and God will do the rest. He has taken me this far and there is no way he is going to let me down now because I'm favoured and blessed," she enthused.

Of course, the beauty has been an inspiration to the youths with her down-to-earth personality and a big heart for the less privileged members of the society.

She has been busy helping those in needy while at the same time promoting Zimbabwe as Africa's destination of choice.

At 22, Vanessa weighs 55kgs and possesses both charm as well as the looks.

Recently she has been preparing for the Miss World pageant ensuring that her wardrobe and fitness was tiptop.

"I believe I can make Zimbabwe proud if I get the support from all stakeholders. I have also begun my normal diet ahead of the Miss World although I am still cautious. I wouldn't want to add numbers and that is why I am careful about my looks," she said.

Joyce Chimanye would provide the delectable Vanessa's wardrobe while Kiri Davies helped her with grooming lessons. Besides the wardrobe, Vanessa is also taking with her a promotional CDs of her song titled Zimbabwe: Land of a Million Dancers and DVD on her charity work.

"This is my first ever single and I hope to give it to all the other contestants so that they will always remember Zimbabwe. I believe the contestants will be representing all the people from their countries and the CD should help to market the country," she said.
