Zambia: 'Church Can Lead Country to Prosperity'

3 November 2009

ONLY the Church can lead Zambia to prosperity, Copperbelt Minister Mwansa Mbulakulima has said.

During intervention prayers at Chingola-Chililabombwe Kafue River Bridge, the minister said the accidents at the bridge had been worrisome to the Government and the insurance companies which were loosing a lot of money as compensation.

The minister who was represented by Chililabombwe District Commissioner, Timothy Musonda said the Government would continue to consider the church as a partner in development.

A group of Chililabombwe clergy organised the prayer meeting at Kafue Bridge to intervene in the number of accidents at the scene.

The other prayer points were Kasumbalesa border post and the Civic Centre aimed at reducing corruption at the border and at the council.

And Grace Ministries reverend Choongwa Chilala said the Kafue Bridge was selected because it was reported to be a place of dwelling for satanists.
