Owerri — Kpakpando Foundation for the Physically Challenged Persons (KFPCP) has donated equipment and offered scholarship running into several millions of naira to the physically challenged persons in Imo state.

Inaugurating the Foundation at the Sam Mbakwe Hall of Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri, former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim described the moment as very remarkable in the sense that it is rare for politicians to celebrate the physically challenged persons but themselves.

Anyim eulogized Senator Osita Izunaso who established the Foundation for being a worthy ambassador of his people considering his level of representation at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly. He urged other politicians to emulate the good gesture of the senator by identifying with the less privileged persons in the society.

"It is a solemn moment. This occasion is remarkable because it is very difficult for politicians to celebrate others but themselves, but in this case, Izunaso is celebrating the physically challenged persons and I urge other politicians to emulate him by identifying with the welfare of the less privileged persons in our midst", he said.
