Nigeria: Why Brazil Failed to Make Last 16 - FIFA

Abuja — World soccer ruling body,FIFA, has explained that pre-tournament favourites, Brazil failed to make the last 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup tagged Nigeria 2009 as one of the best losers based on disciplinary points count. Jean Marie Conz, FIFA technical staff revealed this yesterday at a world press conference held in Abuja by FIFA to x-ray the success of the competition after a successful completion of the first round without any hitches.

According to Marie Conz, United Arab Emirate (UAE) made last 16 on head to head rule ahead of Brazil after record five caution cards (yellow Card) against Brazil's six from the same number of matches played in the tournament.

Marie Conz added that the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup was technically sound as a total of 2.6 goals were scored per match played during first round of the competition. He named host, Nigeria, Italy and Korea Republic as the must technically sound sides in the first round of the championship. While African champion, Gambia was judged the worst disciplined side in tournament after bagging 14 yellow cards during the first round.

Marie Conz while declaring that there is no weak side in this year's competition with all teams played improved game from previous edition, described European duo; Spain, Italy and defending champion, Nigeria as best organized and disciplined sides.
