Nigeria: Table Tennis - Annual Yau Sule/Swan Tourney Tees-Off December

Kano — This year's edition of the Sule Yau Sule sponsored Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Table Tennis Championship for media practitioners in Kano state has been fixed to hold in the first week of December, organizers of the championship announced on Thursday in Kano .

The competition which is the third in the series is to hold between December 5th and 13th this year at the Nigeria Union of Journalist secretariat, Kano council Sports complex.

Participants expected in the competition includes media workers from the Triumph Newspapers limited, Radio Kano, CTV 67, NTA Kano, Ray Power\AIT, Pyramid FM Information Ministry, Correspondent Chapel and the defending champions Freedom 99.5 FM.

According to the chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano state chapter, Mr. Mike Oboh, the sponsor, Alhaji Sule Yau Sule who is the Senior Special Assistant to the Kano state governor on Media and Public Affairs has given his approval for the competition to be held this year.

He explained that this year's edition will see winners going home with fabulous prizes in the various events namely men's singles and men's doubles just as the tournament will be used to fostering better working relationship among media workers in t6he state.

Oboh expressed the association's gratitude to the sponsor for his contributions to the development of Sports Writers in the state as well other working journalists.
