Cameroon: MTN Elite One - Difficult Start for New Comers

Only Roumde Adjia has been able to raise their heads above the water.

The beginning of the MTN elite One championship is some how difficult for newly promoted clubs. After recording a defeat on the first day of play, Yong sports Academy obtained a disappointing goalless draw with Fovu Baham on the second day of play last Sunday. Renaissance of Ngoumou equally bowed to Canon on the first day of play and again lost 2-3 to Union of Douala.

Roumde Adjia on the contrary recorded their first victory of the season at home against visiting Astres of Doula. Roumde Adjia stunned football pundits by narrowly edging the unfortunate finalist of the Cup of Cameroon, Astres 1-0 who put up a good show during the opening encounter of the season against Union.

Meanwhile, it has been a good beginning for the reign Cup of Cameroon winners, Panthere who recorded two straight victories since the beginning of the new season. After defeating Fovu of Baham on the first day of play, Panthere Bangante alias Nzuimanto edged Conon of Yaounde 1-0 on the second day of play last Sunday.

The championship enters the third day of play next weekend with the reigning champions; Tiko United scheduled to take on Sable of Batie. Also on the look out will be the match between Yong sports and Panthere Bangante who seem to be nursing dreams to top the championship this year as they crush any opponent they find along their way. It will be a match of rival between Coton Sport and Union Doula.
