Six-year-old Cecilia Fourie of Windhoek recently came out the overall winner in the Namibia Medical Care (NMC) Children's Art Competition. Cecilia also won her age category.
Second overall was 14-year old Marieke Derks of Swakopmund and third was 4-year old Lea Redelinghuys. The theme for this year's competition was Health and Wellness. The young artists had to portray their interpretation of what it means to live a healthy life.
The competition forms part of NMC's Wellness for Kidz and Teens programmes.
The results were as follows:
0-5 years: 1st Lea Redelinghuys (4) Windhoek, 2nd Mia Brand (5) Windhoek, 3rd Wessel Kotze (4) Windhoek, 4th Apeshe Sheuyange (5) Windhoek and 5th Miquela Lamperth (5) Windhoek.
5-9 years: 1st Cecilia Fourie (6) Windhoek, 2nd Danè Malan (6) Windhoek, 3rd Samora Naukushu (6) Windhoek, 4th Annika Kowenhoven (7) Swakopmund and 5th Lucille Prins (7) Swakopmund.
9-13 years: 1st Mbariuo Tjeriko (12) Otjiwarongo, 2nd Daninca Krauser (10) Swakopmund, 3rd Tyla Lichti (10) Swakopmund, 4th Lee-Roy Olivier Windhoek and 5th Linda Walker (10) Swakopmund. 13-18 years:
1st Marieke Derks (14) Swakopmund, 2nd Sylvia Kandiri Otjiwarongo, 3rd Rikuvra Mireti Otjiwarongo, 4th Jafet Nangombe Otjiwarongo and 5th Elizabeth Sankwaasa Windhoek.
