The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has donated various items worth Sh10 million to a primary and three secondary schools.
Chamazi and Salma Kikwete secondary schools in Dar es Salaam got textbooks, tuition fees and laboratory equipment.
Mbokomu Secondary School and Arusha Chini Primary School in Kilimanjaro got textbooks and building materials worth Sh2.5 million.
The donations were presented to the school heads at the weekend as part of the bank's support to education, a statement noted.
Treasury head Lawrence Mafuru presented textbooks and tuition fees to 21 disadvantaged students at Chamazi Secondary School.
Chamazi headmaster Alfred Marya said the donation was timely because the school was facing an acute shortage of textbooks.
Credit department head Venance Mahaji presented the laboratory equipment worth Sh2.5 million to Salma Kikwete Secondary School in Kijitonyama.
Its headmistress Elestine Chanafi said the support would enhance the school's performance in science subjects.
The donations to Mbokomu Secondary School and Arusha Chini Primary School were handed over by assistant bank manager Herietta Mawalla.
