Angola: Social Assistance Worker Satisfied With Elderly Home Activities

Luanda — The psychologist and social worker of Luanda's Beiral Elderly Home, Mariete Santos, Monday here commended the work done by the elderly in performing the tasks assigned to them.

Mariete Santos said the Beiral elderly, after some training, produce some pieces of sawing, shoemaking, carpentry, gardening and other activities.

Speaking to Angop, the social assistance worker said that the work has been satisfactory with the elderly, once they are given some training or the ability they acquired during their early days.

According to the psychologist, in the institution, people abandoned by their relatives for the most varied reasons, get the attention, love and treatment that make them useful to society.

"The elderly and other residents in Beiral comply with the activities assigned by social workers, which motivates them into contributing to the society's development", she said.
