Namibia: Women to Get Political Training

2 November 2009

Windhoek — Women's Solidarity Namibia in conjunction with the Swedish Women Centre or Centerkvinnoma are hosting a workshop to enhance the participation of women in Namibian politics.

The workshop is open to two female delegates of political parties and will take place from November 13 to 15. It aims to provide women candidates with skills to strengthen their political leadership, promote greater awareness and sensitise them on obstacles on women's participation in politics and find solutions to overcome these.

"Women must learn to do power networking; men are doing that all the time," says Gun Drugge, formerly, a mayor for four years and now with Centerkvinnoma. She is to assist with training.
