Kampala — THE rebranding of AIG Uganda into Chartis will not affect existing policies, a top official said on Monday. "Although we have taken on a new brand, we maintain our commitment to our clients and to taking the lead in underwriting complex risks.
"All policies issued with the AIG brand prior to November 1, remain the same and valid," Alex Wanjohi, the Chartis Uganda managing director, explained. AIG Uganda converted to the Chartis brand on November 1.
The move was in line with the company's global brand realignment after a July decision to transform AIU Holdings Inc., the short-term, accident and health insurance operation of AIG Inc., into Chartis.
Consequently, all AIG global operations had until November 1 to rebrand into the new name. Wanjohi said the rebranding does not affect the company's ability to deliver on its promises.
