Abuja — The Federal Government has given assurance that work on the Itu Bridge in Akwa Ibom State will resume as soon as the rains and the flooding of the site subsided.
The Minister of Works, Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Hassan Muhammad Lawal stated this at Government House Uyo Akwa-Ibom State when he paid a courtesy call on Gov. Goodswill Akpabio.
He noted that the torrential rain pours and the consequent flooding of the site had inhibited the contractor's work plan and progress. He stated that the contractor had full complement of equipment and materials in his site yard, and that the contractor, Messrs Bullettine Construction Nig. Limited has always performed satisfactorily on the many projects he has handled for the Ministry.
The Minister commended the State Governor for his performance in roads construction. He said his impression on the quality of road works by the State Government were indelible.
