Nigeria: Justice Mustafa Akanbi to Commission Foundation Complex

Ilorin — Pioneer Chairman of the Independent Practices and Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Justice Mustafa Akanbi (rtd) will on 5th November, 2009 commission a foundation complex in the heart of Ilorin , the Kwara state capital.

The complex, called Mustafa Akanbi Foundation (MAF), is located at 34 Onikanga Street, GRA, Ilorin to be commissioned by the Governor of the state Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

Speaking with Daily Trust, the former ICPC chairman disclosed that the complex comprised of a large hall, administrative offices and research library.

He further added that, "The completion of the hall was a testimony to the foundation's commitment to achieve its lofty objectives in a conducive environment."

He also said that as part of his efforts to ameliorate the suffering of the orphans and the less privileged in the society, a charitable organisation, "Ma-Assalam Islamic foundation" has been registered that would engage in collection of Zakat from wealthy individuals for distribution to the needy.

He disclosed further that the foundation also include a prayer arm purposely designed to pray for the growth and development of the nation.

Akanbi however said that guests expected at the ceremonies are Governors of Niger, Lagos, Kano and Edo states, Dr Aliyu Babangida, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Adams Oshiomole and Alhaji Ibrahim Sekarau respectively.

Others include the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the Emir of Suleja, Alhaji Anwal Ibrahim, Justice Saidu Kawu, Justice Bola Babalakin and Alhaji Muritala Adetunji and a host of others.
