Abuja — Vice President Goodluck Jonathan and the Secretary General of the International Gas Union, Mr. Torstein Indreboe are among the confirmed dignitaries expected to attend the Special Anniversary Seminar of the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA).
According to Mr. Afolabi Akinrogunde, the NGA's Publicity Secretary, the seminar with the theme, "Strategic Focus for National Development In the Gas
Millennium", is one of the two key events planned to mark the 10th Anniversary of the industry body. The second event is a special 10th anniversary dinner and cultural night.
The two events are scheduled to take place on the 23rd and 24th of November respectively, at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja.
others expected guests include, Senate President David Mark, Alhaji Rilwanu Lukman and Mr. Odein Ajumogobia, Minister and Minister of State in the Petroleum Ministry respectively.
Other expected attendees are the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo and representatives from gas bearing states within Nigeria and in the Gulf of Guinea.
The Nigerian Gas Association president, Engr. Charles Osezua said: "The 10th Anniversary events of the Nigerian Gas Association provides a unique opportunity for all stakeholders in the Nigerian gas industry to take stock of the great developments that have taken place in the last decade, while noting the actions required to move the Nigerian gas industry to the heights desired for it by all."
