Abuja — Ahead of the all important 2010 FIFA World Cup clash between the Harambee Stars of Kenya and the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Kenyan Deputy Minister of Sports, Kabando-wa-Kabando says his country is poised to defeat Nigeria to pave the way for their qualification for the 2010 African Nations Cup slated for Angola.
Kabando said the Kenyan national team is already training very hard to enable them beat Nigeria real silly, adding that they even expect as much as 5-0 result.
According to him, the 'whitewashing' of the Eagles would bring happiness to the numerous Kenyan football fans.
He said having lost 3-0 in Abuja, the reverse game in Nairobi, will present an avenue for the Harambee Stars to trash the Super Eagles "as that is the only way we can be in Angola for the Nations Cup which Kenya must take part in."
Kabando, who spoke in a telephone conversation yesterday, added that a victory over Nigeria on November 14 will help bring peace to the much troubled Kenyan football.
Meanwhile, the president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi said he's still hopeful that Super Eagles will qualify for the mundial while saying it is still a 50-50 chance between Nigeria and Tunisia.
"Our chance is 50-50, just as it is for Tunisia; it's no longer 100 per cent guarantee and as you know, anything can happen in football," Lulu told reporters in Abuja during the week.
