Zamfara State Agency for Poverty Alleviation (ZAPA) has received 6,635 units of motorcycles for distribution as loan to the people of the state.

Special Adviser to Governor Aliyu Shinkafi on ZAPA matters, Alhaji Jamilu Kaura disclosed this in an interview with Daily Champion.

He said the agency would act as an intermediary between the supplying contractors and civil servants in the state.

"The agency got some people who showed their willingness to assist through the arrangement. These Samaritans are willing to grant over 10,000 unit of motorcycles as loan to civil servants in the state. So far, the agency has received 6,635 which have already been distributed to beneficiaries, he said.

Kaura said Zamfara State Government has constituted a committee to over see the repayment of all loans granted by the agency.

"Some of the beneficiaries have no good intention to either pay or reciprocate the government's gesture. The agency has done the best it could to make defaulters pay their outstanding loans, but effort proved abortive," he said.

While urging the beneficiaries to repay the loan in good time Kaura commended the state governor his administration's achievement in poverty reduction.
