Members of the Golden Eaglets stand to earn an improved sum of $750, per person, if they beat New Zealand in the second round fixture of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup at the Abuja National Stadium.
After raking in $500 for beating Argentina 2-1 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi on Friday, the Eaglets are set to get a rise in earning should they progress into the quarterfinal of the cadet championship after Nigeria's football regulatory body, told Sports Vanguard that the players winning bonus had been jerked up by $250.

Disclosing this yesterday, Chief Media Officer of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire said the body decided to increase the team's bonuses because of the need to motivate them to victory in their match against the Oceania champions, who would be having their first taste knockout action since they started playing in a FIFA Under-17 World Cup tournament.
