Uganda: Kibaya Charged With 11 Counts

Kampala — Mr Andrew Kibaya was last week charged with 11 offenses at Buganda Road Court. He denied them all and was released on a non cash bond of Shs5 million by Grade One Magistrate Francis Kobusheshe.

Mr Kibaya is accused of pretending to be an advocate yet he does not have a practicing certificate. He was also charged with uttering a false document and obtaining registration by false pretense.

Prosecution alleges that the accused on July 24, 2003 in Kampala while pretending to be an advocate prepared and witnessed the undertaking between Abdu Mawanda and Kobil Uganda Limited. He also allegedly prepared a lease agreement for Block 266 and Plots 186 and 198 at Kayabwe Mawokota.

He is also accused of willfully procuring for Kobil Uganda Limited the registration of lease comprised in LRV3698 folio 12 for 17 years and two months on Mailo Land comprised in Mawokota block 266,186 and 198. He allegedly committed the crimes at Ministry of Lands and Urban Development.
