All Ugandan peacekeepers injured in the September 17 attack on African Union Mission in Somalia, have been discharged from Nairobi International Hospital.

The army and defence spokesperson, Lt. Col Felix Kulayigye said yesterday that 21 Ugandan soldiers were discharged last month. The injured peacekeepers are awaiting compensation from the African Union.

An injured peacekeeper is entitled to a maximum of $50,000(about Shs90m) while families of those who die while on duty are given $100,000 (about Shs180m).

Those who have healed, Col Kulayigye, said have reported for duty in Mogadishu, but those who got serious injuries were brought home to heal.
