Tunis — Following September's torrential rain, on the Governorate of Gafsa resulting in flash floods which have claimed the lives of 17 people and injured many in the locality of Redeyef, work is underway to repair damaged houses and build new ones.

The mobilization of the ministries of National Defense, Ministry the Interior and Local Development, Health and of Social Affairs has provided for an effective and continuous monitoring of the evolution of the situation.

3775 people whose homes were damaged will also receive compensation.

The program also involves repairing the infrastructure including the refurbishing of roads in the city of Redayef and the reconstruction of damaged dams and structures to protect the city against flooding.
