Kigali — Silverbacks captain Benjamin Makombe reckons that qualifying for the Main or Plate Cup will not be easy after being drawn in a strong group.

Silverbacks, making their debut in the annual event are drawn in Group D alongside tournament hosts Hima Impis, G4S Pirates and Summerkamp.

"Apart from Summerkamp, Hima Impis and G4S Pirates are two strong sides with plenty of experience so we have to be at our best to snatch points from them," the 25-year-old forward said. "But we are determined to fight to the death to qualify for the Main or Plate Cup quarter-finals."

It is going to be the first time for Rwanda to field a national team in the event. Over the past three years, the country has always fielded the national league champions.

The two-day event, which is expected to attract 16 teams, rolls off this Saturday.

The silverbacks leave Friday morning. MTN Heathens are the reigning champions after trouncing Kenya's Mwamba in last year's final.

Pool B: Mwamba, utl Kobs, Strathmore, Entebbe Mongers
