Harare — ZIMBABWE made it into the top 10 of the African hip-hop contest that was held in Lagos, Nigeria, recently.
The inaugural event saw artistes from 34 countries taking part, with South Africa scooping the coveted top prize.
Tanzania and Namibia emerged on second and third places with Mozambique and Zambia making up the rest of the top five winning list.
Zimbabwe was represented by Lee Stylz, Ti Jes, Bolaz, TK and Caleb who according to reports from a Zimbabwean official who was part of the local contingent, gave a good account of themselves.
"It was a tight contest, but the guys impressed and proved that they are among the best in the game.
"We are glad that they managed to lift the country's flag high," said Damina Russels.
He also added that the artistes were currently making preparations for the finals scheduled for November 24 in Zambia.
"The guys are currently making serious preparations and are eyeing the top award come November 24 in Zambia," he said. The winning groups will walk away with prizes including recording contracts and cash.
