Kampala — A local construction firm, Josam Construction has won the tender to build a mosque at Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
Sam Ssejjaaka, the deputy principal MUBS, said the construction would take six months and cost sh750m.
He said this was part of the on-going re-development of MUBS. He added that the university also plans to construct worshiping places for all religious denominations.
"We have so far got donations to construct a mosque and a Catholic church.
"We are still looking for donors to fund the construction of a church for Anglicans," Ssejjaaka said.
Currently, MUBS students pray from lecture rooms, which Ssejaaka said were small.
The mosque shall accommodate 1,200.
The Mukwano Group of Companies and 3Z Foundation will fund the mosque project. Luuka General Enterprises donated 200 bags of cement.
