Abuja — The Federal Government and China have signed an agreement to check the influx of sub-standard goods into Nigeria, an official has said.
Alhaji Idris Waziri, Chairman, National Organising Committee for the first Nigeria-China Trade and Investment Forum, said this yesterday in Abuja while briefing newsmen.
"Quality of sub-standard goods that Nigerians go to buy in China will be improved upon and also produced here in the country and in good quality," he said.
Waziri said the forum would host 60 Chinese companies with intention of investing in the power, oil and gas, agriculture and mines and steel sectors.
He said the forum would help to invigorate the economy and address the issue of unemployment.
Waziri solicited the support of Nigerians for a successful hosting of the forum. NAN
