Uganda's long serving goalkeeping coach Fred 'Giringi' Lukwago has died.
The 54-year old died yesterday at 10.14am at SIMS Clinic on Lubaga Road after battling a long illness for over two-weeks.
Lukwago, a father of three children has been a goalkeeping coach with the national team (Cranes) since 2006 and SC Villa for the last decade.
He played for Nakivubo Boys in 70s and moved to Express in the late 70s and early 80s before returning to Nakivubo Boys (SC Villa) in 1987-89.
According to Villa's general secretary Edward Mugalu Luyimbazi, the Cranes and SC Villa goalkeeper coach passed away yesterday morning (10.14am).
"It's tragedy that one of Uganda's best goalkeeping coaches in the country is gone. We shall miss him a lot at Villa and the nation," Luyimbazi said.
