Jaiyesimi stated this, during the 49th annual scientific conference/ general meeting "EKO 2009" with theme: changing the culture, making a difference, and sub-theme: best practice in physiotherapy which collided with the society's50years anniversary recently in Lagos.

He also stated that the exercise was necessary to re-evaluate the physiotherapy aspect of healthcare delivery in the country to bring about qualitative change that will be in tune with the hopes and aspirations of the people of Nigeria.

He explained that the service of physiotherapist is inevitable in this era, due to the transiting nature of the society. That is, people who are used to rural lifestyle adopting western lifestyle due to civilization.

According to him, this transition comes with health challenges such as stroke, back pain, arthritis amongst others, which can be addressed by a physiotherapist because they have been equipped adequately to mange such conditions.
