Janjangbureh — The Georgetown Trust, a charitable organisation based in United Kingdom, has recently presented D140, 000 to David Haffner, the principal of Armitage Senior Secondary School, for the sponsorship of over 100 students, in the school.
The presentation ceremony was held at the school premises in Janjangbureh. Speaking at the ceremony, Richard Leon, the chairman of Georgetown Trust, said the aim of the trust is to assist needy and hard working male students. He called on the students to take their academic work seriously as the sponsorship is based on merit.
For his part, David Haffner, the principal of the school, hailed Georgetown Trust for the benevolent gesture. He noted that the fund is for the payment of school fees and examinations fees for over hundred students. He revealed that Georgetown Trust has been sponsoring some needy students for the past years. He called on the students to make best use of the opportunity accorded them. He finally advised them to make their books their best friends.
