A woman, who was said to have been raped by one Lamin Darboe, on Tuesday, explained her side of the story at the Brikama Magistrate Court.

In her evidence in chief, delivered before Magistrate JA Effim, the victim told the court that one day, in the month of October 2008, at Sanyang village, she went to the bush with her eight year old boy. She said she then saw a man coming from behind them and when he (the accused)had passed them, he entered the bush and hid himself.

She narrated that he spoke to her but she could not understand the language he used. She further told the court that the man then caught hold of her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her. She said that her clothes were torn including her underwears and told the court that she reported the matter to the Sanyang police station.
