Osogb — No fewer than 30 investors from United States are in Osun state to attend the state's trade mission summit holding at Ada in Boripe Local Government area of the state.
The investors are to be involved in reviving all moribund industries in the state.
Already, the state government had signed memorandum of understanding with China and other foreign investors on the cocoa processing industry in Ede.
The state governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who spoke at the summit said the industrial policy of the state is to accelerate the pace of industrial development of the state through provision of an enabling environment.
He equally said it was designed for private sectors to be motivated in order to engage industrial investment, while the state had progressively introduced incentives designed to promote investment, employment, product mix and various aspects of industry.
Oyinlola who appealed to investors to take advantage of the generous incentives and packages offered by the state government as well as the enabling environment already created noted that the state is desired to achieve socio - economic transformation.
The governor regretted that Nigeria's abundant solid mineral deposits have remained largely untapped, leaving it at the mercy of developed economics for survival.
Oyinlola emphasized that the state since the inception of his administration has taken remarkable steps to continue the process of change and development.
According to him "our approach has been to initiate highly desirable projects that will uplift the standard of life of the people in the state".
Some of the major areas of focus at the summit are agriculture and agro allied sector, industrialization and free trade zone development as well as information and communication technology.
