Lagos — World leader in the courier business, DHL, yesterday unveiled its 'Destination South Africa' which is intended to give its numerous costumers in Nigeria the opportunity to participate and win a sponsored trip to the next FIFA World Cup finals next year.
The Group Operation Manager, DHL International (Nigeria) Limited, Mr. Morgan Uloko said that the company was offering its cash customers in the country a platform to be part of the global football community with the Mundial.
"As a brand that is consistently innovative and evolving ways of connecting with our customers, we realised that the people are very much in tune with sports and it is important for us to tap into it especially when the continent is staging the biggest football event," stressed the operations manager. He explained further that the promo is open to all cash customers in the country and all it requires to participate is to send as many packages as possible to any destination within and outside Nigeria to qualify for any of the prizes at stake.
The promo, according to Mr. Femi Owolaja, the Retail and Agency Manager of the company commenced on Monday and will run till April 2010.
He said the costumer will need to send any package by DHL within the stipulated period of the promotion and then send SMS by typing DHL and his or her name and the waybill number to '32144'. At the end of every month, a draw ceremony will come up electronically where five lucky winners will emerge and the monthly winners will be eligible for the grand prize of all expense paid trip to South Africa to watch a World cup match by one of the winners with their partners.
