Free tickets and transportation have been provided for Cameroonians resident in Morocco.
Though eleven players descend on the arena in football, there is a 12th player who is equally important in a team’s performance. This 12th player is the fan who cheers his clubs in the midst of adversity thereby giving the players the courage to go on. While Paul Le Guen and his Boys fine tune strategies to obtain victory in the decisive encounter against morocco next November 14, fans have also been preparing to give the Indomitable Lions the moral support they need to over power the Atlas Lions.
Cameroon’s embassy in morocco has sent out a communiqué inviting Cameroonians resident in Morocco to turn up for free tickets and transportation to Fez where the match will be taking place, to cheer the Lions to victory. The fans of the Indomitable Lions have the possibility of registering either at the embassy or at an e-mail address that has been reserved for the purpose.
Meanwhile Paul Le Guen has published the list of 22 players to defend the national colours in Morocco. A reading of the list proves that Paul Le Guen has been prudent, preferring to maintain his confidence in the same squad that has been giving him victory ever since he took over office. The little changes on the list include the absence of Sebastian Bassong due to injury. Georges Mandjeck has also made way for Assou Ekotto who was suspended during the last encounter. Henri Bedimo after his brilliant performance in the match against Togo, was once more called up to the national selection.
The encounter counting for the last playing day of the 3rd round qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup will be a very crucial one for the Indomitable Lions given that a defeat or draw may dash Cameroon’s hope of going to the World Cup. More so, the country is haunted by the experience 2005 when Cameroon did the most difficult by beating their arch rivals at the time Cote d’Ivoire in their own backyard but stumbled on a disappointing 1-1 draw against Egypt in Mfandena-Yaounde, to be butted out of the competition. The challenge is even greater now given that Cameroon will be playing on away field, in Fez-Morocco where fans are known to be very boisterous and intimidate opponents. In addition, Morocco having lost the contest for the World Cup, is determined to clinch a final round spot in the African Cup of Nations in Angola by beating Cameroon.
