Wanlaweyn — At least 5 people have been killed and 4 others have been wounded in a truck accident that occurred in out of Wanlalweyn town 90 kilometers south of the Somali capital Mogadishu, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Thursday.
Witnesses told Shabelle radio that the accident came as a lorry left that left from Mogadishu and traveling to Baidoa town turned over in the out of Wanlaweyn town in Lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia killing 5, wounding 4 others who were all members of the passengers.
Locals said that two of the injured people are in a very critical condition and all the dead bodies and the wounded people were rushed to the main hospital of Wanlaweyn town as the officials of Harakat Al-shabab Mujahideen reached the area where car accident happened and urgently helped the victims.
Sources said that the accident happened as the driver of the truck came across a donkey which he tried to deflect from as it was traveling with very high speed. But lost its control and caused to over turn killing more deaths and injuries.
It was recently when the truck accident killed more and injured several others in both Lower and Middle Shabelle regions and accidents are often caused by inexperienced drivers who always travel on rough streets in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
