Majimaji fought gallantly to edge out struggling Moro United 3-2 in an exciting Vodacom Premier League match played at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

Majimaji kicked off the match on a high tempo and it took them 18 minute to break the deadlock through Juma Mpola.

Salum Chimae, who made a dazzling run down the right flank, unleashed a cross that Mpola connected deftly.

Ten minutes later, the visitors counterattacked and Selemani Kibuta headed home for Majimaji's second goal.

Moro United came into the game with their players passing the ball quickly and accurately.

Their efforts paid off in the 32nd minute when Thomas Ulimwengu unleashed a thunderous drive to reduce the margin.

The teams went to the half time break with the visitors boasting of a wafer thin lead.

The home side began the second half rejuvenated as they sent a series of shock waves to their opponents and managed to level the matter on the hour mark.

Ulimwengu fired a stupendous drive that went past baffled Majimaji custodian Said Ngapa.

As the Moro United stepped up their attacks, Majimaji suffered a big blow in the 72nd minute after losing their goalie who picked two yellow cards.

However, Majimaji did not lose all, they lost the goalkeeper, but the home team lost the match.

Capitalising on defensive blunders, Majimaji scored the winner in the dying minutes through Chimae.

It was the second defeat Moro United endured in just a week. They succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Manyema FC last weekend.
