Ghana: Country Expects Muntari to Play Against Mali

5 November 2009

Ghana expect to have Sulley Muntari available for their final qualifying match for the 2010 World Cup, which takes place against Mali on November 15, and an international friendly with Angola three days later.

A report posted on Ghanasoccernet.com states that Muntari is expected to have recovered in time for the national assignments after going off with an injury in Inter's Serie A game against Livorno on Sunday.

The Nerazzurri midfielder is included in Milovan Rajevac's 20-member team, which was announced on Tuesday.

Ghana have already qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the African Cup of Nations in Angola.

They play Mali who have already qualified for Angola. Mali were in contention for a World Cup slot until their coach, Stephen Keshi, lost eight of his regulars to injury and he played Ghana at home with his Team B. They lost the match but Malians were not disappointed.
