Uganda/Rwanda: Lady Cranes Coach Cries Foul in Rwanda

Kampala — UGANDA'S U-20 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali tomorrow has been shifted to a yet undisclosed venue sparking off a protest from the coach Majidah Nantanda.

The match initially scheduled to take place at Amahoro Stadium has been moved because the national stadium is reserved for the Amavubi Stars 2010 Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia on October 14.

A bitter sounding Nantanda argued that the decision undermined the women's clash and threatened to boycott the match.

"This is a psychological torture. It is against the FIFA rule of Fair Play. I can't play a match that exposes my players to risks. It is better for us to refuse before taking a risk," Nantanda, herself a CAF instructor, charged.

She feels that because Rwanda needs a win at all cost, they are mistreating the Uganda team to shift focus, so that they (Rwandans) can overturn the 2-1 first leg deficit.

The Uganda team arrived in Kigali on Wednesday and were forced to train on a bare ground after they failed to get transport to the training venue.
