Abuja — A middle-aged woman at Chika village, Abuja, Wednesday night attacked a lady she suspected of having a love relationship with her husband.
The woman, known as Mrs Uche, had gone to her rival's apartment at 9.30pm to invite her for a discussion over a problem between them.
A witness said Mrs Uche took the lady to one Papa Nonso's room to discuss the matter that later turned out to be a shouting match between the two ladies.
"Before we knew what was happening, Mrs Uche jumped on her rival and used a sharp blade to disfigure her face, chest, breast and chest," the witness said.
He said after the incident, the married woman picked her child up and left the scene of the incident, while the injured lady was taken to a chemist within the area for treatment and was rejected by the chemist nurse, who advised that they tell the police first.
"The lady was taken to Chika Police Post, where policemen were released to take her back to the chemist for treat and to arrest the suspect," he added.
Our reporter observed when the police arrested the suspect and put her in their open van while the injured lady was conveyed to a General Hospital after her treatment in the Chemist.
A neighbour of the suspect, said because of the same problem, she broke a bottle on her husband's head.
At the Chika Police Post, a policeman said the case file has been transferred to Lugbe Police Station, while at Lugbe, the divisional crime officer declined to comment on the issue and referred the reporter to FCT Police Command.
