Burundi left nothing to chance as they arrived in the country yesterday for the fourth edition of the Club Beer International Beach Volleyball tournament set for this weekend at Lido Resort Beach in Entebbe.
"We are not taking any chances on fatigue and jet lag. We set off from Kigali and we have come here for silverware and nothing else," the president of Burundi Volleyball Federation Louis Rwakinyara, who led the delegation of two men's teams and three officials, told Daily Monitor. Burundi will be the dark horses of the two-day regional showpiece and are expected to spring up a few surprises.
Seven Kenyan teams led by the chairperson of the Kenya Beach Volleyball Commission Patricia Scott are expected to jet in this afternoon as well as Rwanda. Uganda has lifted the men's title twice whereas Rwanda has won it once.
