Unidentified gunmen have attacked one of the Islamist officials of Hisbul Islam in out of the Somali capital Mogadishu killing 1, injuring the assaulted official in south of the country, officials told Shabelle radio on Friday.
Sheik Abdiweli Abdi Mohamed, the chairman of Hisbul Islam organization in Lafole village out the capital talked about the overnight attack and said that it was targeted to Abdullahi Hilowle, one of the commanders of Hizbul Islam organization in lower Shabelle region saying that it was behind by armed gunmen adding that they wounded the chief and killed another person during fire exchange between the security forces of the officer and the armed men.
Reports say that the casualties are greater than the number mentioned and the chairman of Hisbul Islam in Lafole village Sheik Abdiweli Abdi Mohamed told reporters that they are continuing search operations to know who were the real men masterminded the attack.
It is not the first that officials of the Islamic organization of Hizbul Islam attacked in parts of Lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia where most of IDPs from Mogadishu are homing and under their control.
